Students learn by seeing and doing, not just sitting and listening. With the addition of a multimedia projector for our classroom, students will be allowed to investigate science topics by seeing videos and pictures of animals in a larger medium.
We are a preschool classroom filled with twenty energetic, ready to learn three-year-olds! At our public charter school, our students are getting prepared to move on to high-performing high schools and, hopefully, college.
Our students come from high-risk communities and are now given an early start to prepare for a career as life-long learners and successful community members. Our parents are enthusiastic and have given our students this opportunity by enrolling them in this school as well as preparing and working with their students at home to ensure that they can excel.
Our students need a multimedia projector that can be used in the classroom as well as shared with our entire school. For math, the students will be able to see large projections of numbers and view an interactive lesson to learn about counting. For literacy, students will learn letters, small words, and learn to read along with the text. On rainy and snowy days, our students can watch educational videos to stay engaged and have fun at school! If the students are able to learn through different mediums, they will grow into adults who know how to get by in this technological world. Many students may not have access to computers, projectors, or other technologies at home. Working with these technologies at school will prepare them for their future school and professional careers.
By donating to this project, you will give my students the ability to learn by seeing and interacting. The idea of lecturing to students is not successful for three-year-olds. Most topics and themes are completely new to these students, and being able to use pictures and videos as references will ensure that the students understand. This projector will allow the students to see the world they live in!
