Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When you enter the door to our kindergarten class, you will see twenty boys and girls playing and working with manipulatives ranging from counting counters, letter blocks, a magnifying glass, etc. Though my students come from different backgrounds and nationalities, they all learn through play and hands-on experiences. Many of them speak Spanish as a first language.

They yearn to connect and learn from one another.

My students come to kindergarten with a range of prior knowledge; however, I differentiate instruction to cater to all their needs. They are full of energy, and they learn best from moving and acting out.

My Project

Our students are excited to learn through technology! It is essential to use technology in the classroom on a daily basis through iPad apps, computer work, smart board instruction and coding, as students need to grow and learn in a tech-savvy world.

My students will be able to experience new ways of figuring out math problems, increase their handwriting abilities, and begin basic coding.

In order to make this possible, my students need headphones so students can individually use the iPads during reading and math centers. To best meet the unique needs of our young learners, we need an iPad charging station to charge all iPads at one point, and finally an extra classroom iPad so all students are able to use an iPad during our literacy centers.
