Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in the south Bronx at a district 75 school where most of my students are intellectually disabled. They are super excited to learn new skills. However, my students need a lot of support that includes technology as well as hands-on materials. my students are on different math/ELA levels. Some of my students are pre-k, kindergarten ,1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade readers. For some of my students, it is really hard to make connections without visual aids.
My school is a place where students learn how to be safe, respectable, and responsible students.
I am a new teacher at a middle school with hundred percent of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. We have substantial numbers of students who are unable to access technology outside of the classroom. I find there are times my students are not exposed to science and technology outside of the classroom.

My Project
These computers are essential to help my students improve their reading levels. Also, these computers will help my students to read online books as well as audiobooks which will enrich their range of vocabulary words; most of these books provide pictures along with the story which gives students the opportunity to visualize characters, theme, setting, etc. These computers will encourage my students who have difficulties expressing their ideas through handwriting. Hence, they will be able to type their ideas. Furthermore, we will be able to watch didactic movie clips. These computers will expose my students to a lot of important information.
