Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from different situations, and each have their own challenges in life beyond school. My goal is to help each student understand their potential and growth while building their confidence. We are a small rural school in Oklahoma, Title I and have multicultural students. We have students with diverse learning needs, a large percentage of students that are English Language Learners (ELL). In my math classroom about 40% of students fall under special education and/or ELL. Recently we have added an afterschool tutoring program for our students.
To help learn amid the pandemic our classroom needs a smart tv, headphones and different interactive games.
Having these tools in our classroom would be beneficial. Our current interactive device is not reliable, and our school does not have the finances/funds at this time, to stay up to date with technology needs of our students. This would help keep up with the changes in technology but serve them with lifelong skills a way for them to thrive in the learning environment. Having a smart tv, headphones, and interactive games in our classroom would help students interact with each other and also help them feel more comfortable in interacting through virtual learning
