Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are living in a very technological world, and students of today need to become 21st century learners. This means my students need to have meaningful experiences with technology which will allow them to develop the skills necessary to compete in our fast paced world.
My wonderful first graders are so inquisitive and interested in learning new things.
They LOVE any interaction they get with computers, tablets, and such at school. For many of them, the exposure they get to technology at school is the extent of their interaction with technology. Our school is a lower income charter school, and while we are working on developing 21st century learners, sadly the funds are not always there.
My Project
With the use of the LCD projector, my students will be able access technology directly in our classroom. The projector will help in all subject areas from showing writing samples, to graphic organizers, to pictographs, to maps, to shared readings. Students will be able to see me modeling their work in a more exact fashion. Also with the use of the projector, the whole class will be able to access websites, videos, and other interactive software at the same time. This will enhance learning for the whole group in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies as well as show the children the importance of using technology in our world today. The possibilities are endless!
In the world in which we live, it is so important for students to have access to technology and for them to know how to use it.
With our LCD projector, my students will have access to technology directly in their classroom, and they will be able to learn how to use it. This will better prepare my students to become the 21st century learners they need to be to succeed.
