This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in dual language means being ready to learn as soon as you enter. We would like our students to feel that learning is in fact a click away. Our biggest challenge is the distance between them and the click of technology. A leader knows the way, shows the way and teaches the way.

Our students are 38 amazing children that are the tomorrow of our education system.

They are curious, challenge ready, enthusiastic and hungry for more learning. Our is the best place to be. An innovative school full of innovative practices and innovative programs. We have implemented the Leader in Me that is unifying our school in so many ways. We all speak the common language of leadership and want our students to become the examples our future needs. We are the school that is thinking with the end in mind by creating children that not only will walk out leaders but will pave new paths for students of the future.

My Project

We feel privileged to already have so much in our hands. We see the fruits of all we have planted and eventually want to take our students to newer heights. During cooperative groups our students apply so many higher order thinking skills and in lieu develop higher order questioning. They always want to find answers to their inquisitive and interesting questions; however having to disconnect from their groups and peers and from their learning in that moment to research at a very distant desktop computer immediately places a barrier between them and the real world. A "click away" is never real for them because they cannot just click in the moment. They have to disconnect from their teams and seek those questions that by the time they return with the answers the list of questions has expanded and possibly will never be answered. It is for this reason, we would like 2 i-pads for our students to have full access to research based questions during both whole group and independently.

This donation will greatly improve our class dynamic.

Students will learn in the moment of excitement and will always want to take the challenge further. Students will want to further dig deeper and in turn develop research based project at its finest capacity. Our students will be more well rounded, will develop savvy ways to research and time will never affect their learning again. Students will have technology will learning both English and Spanish right at their fingertips.
