Help me give my students this nice and handy Dell Inspiron Touchscreen Laptop.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Hylton's classroom raised $506
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are largely Haitian immigrants or first generation Americans. They come from low-income homes with almost all of them eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. They are sometimes limited to a school-home routine with little or no opportunities to experience anything outside of those places.
Some of the students have never experienced things that other children may take for granted, such as owning a computer and internet, going to a theme park or traveling to another state or country.
They need to see that the world is more than what is between the walls of their home and the fences of their school.
My Project
Slowly trying to build my classroom into a space where technology is handy and available for each and every one of my students. The laptops will be of great use in the classroom and will make a big difference for the students and their learning. The students have programs that they need to use daily (for remediation, intervention, enrichment) on the computer but there are not enough computers available in the classroom or the school to get that done.
This computer will be a step in the direction of each student having access to a computer daily to get their tasks done.
More than half of students from low‑income households
