Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are English Language Learners who are from high poverty backgrounds. I am a new ESL instructor to this school site and would like for my students to have more access to technology. Currently we have no ipads, chrome books and laptops available for small group instruction that I provide to my students.

My students are developing writers and readers.

They are visual and auditory learners and this is their only opportunity to access technology in small group instruction. I have set up an app that they can access at any time. Many of my student have no access to the public library, they don't have experiences that other students have and they need exposure to all forms of learning on the technology devices though apps, classroom websites, research, and I would appreciate your consideration in help my students learn and access technology. Please reach out and fund ESL technology because my students need this opportunity to use and learn through technology.

My Project

Technology tools improve their language acquisition and communication skills using technology. Without technology access, skills and usage the English as second language learner will have difficulty keeping up with reading in the classroom.

Today there are a plethora of web sites and software packages that are designed specifically for English Language learners.

The key points for my students are to;

*increase student interactivity with technology.

*Give access to class projects on google docs.

*Hear english spoken in auditory books online.

*Use school reading with guided lessons.

*Give parents a chance to see artifacts of students work and projects that they created.

There are endless possibilities for projects and learning for these wonderful students!
