My Students

Wouldn't it be nice to have photos to remember your first experiences in school? And wouldn't it be great for the kids and teaches to have access to videos on the web?

Our school is in the heart of East Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY.

The school includes students from Pre-k to eighth grade, and it is a melting pot of descendants from the West Indies. The school is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the students in the school receive free lunch. There are 18 energetic, three and four year old children in my class but there are not a lot of funds to enrich these students' education because of the budget cuts.

My Project

The students do so many special things in Pre-kindergarten and I want to be able to share some of these experiences with the parents. I will use the photo printer and toner to print pictures I take of the students in class and on trips. We will display some of the photos on bulletin boards others will be placed in photo albums that will be given to the parents at the end of the year. The Apple TV will be used with our classroom SMART board. It will give us access to educational videos from the web.

Having updated technology is important in every classroom.

This is many of my students first time in school and parents are sometimes nervous about this. The pictures provided by the printer will help them see what a great time their child is having in school. The Apple TV will help us connect our iPad to our SMART board bringing the Internet into our classroom.
