Tech Tools for Pre-K: Enhancing Learning Through Interactive Centers

Help me give my students essential technology tools including a secure locked charging station, iPads, headphones, cases, and chargers to support small group learning, building early literacy and math skills through engaging interactive centers in our Pre-K classroom.

My Project

I love how my students are curious, excited, and engaged with the world around them. Their enthusiasm for learning, even at a young age, is inspiring. Our technology center is filled with outdated materials used since before the pandemic. After years of use, in addition to virtual home learning, we need to refresh these technology tools to keep up with students' curiosity and needs.

As a Title I school serving a majority of minority students in poverty, this project will directly impact my students' ability to engage with new learning tools, helping them thrive.

We do not have the funding to replace or upgrade technology items and are grateful for your support.

This project will provide essential technology tools like a charging station, headphones, iPads, cases, and chargers, all crucial for helping my Pre-K students engage with interactive centers during small group work. These resources will allow them to build early literacy and math skills through digital activities that complement hands-on play.

Technology use in our classroom follows early childhood guidelines. Research supports interactive technology in moderation to enhance learning. The NAEYC and Fred Rogers Center emphasize intentional use with hands-on activities and teacher guidance. The AAP acknowledges that interactive media supports early literacy and cognitive development. In our classroom, these tools are used independently during small group instruction for no more than 15 minutes daily. Research shows appropriate technology reinforces key skills while maintaining a balanced learning environment.

My students are special because they are resilient, determined, and full of potential. Despite challenges outside the classroom, they come every day eager to learn and grow. With your donation, these tools will give them the resources to succeed, building foundational skills for the future.
