I teach math and science to 45 ambitious and ready to learn fourth graders. They love coming to school and learning. My students have really missed being in school with their teachers and friends. We are a close knit class that spends a lot of time learning in the outdoors.
My Project
Last fall, when school started and all my sweet 4th graders showed up, no on could have predicted what would happen to us in March. My students and I had formed that family bond that happens in a classroom. Once we were all stuck at home trying to communicate with each other, it was hard on us! We missed each other! My students missed each other, I missed them, it was such a struggle to figure out what was happening. One thing I quickly realized was that I needed better technology at my house to communicate with them.
I would like to have an iPad to better communicate with my students during virtual/distant learning in the fall.
I know with an iPad I can utilize the iMovie to make clips of lessons for them and announcements of what is going on for the week. With an iPad I will have the ability to face time them and get to visit with them one on one. I feel that deeper learning and communication can take place between me, the educator, and my students. I am looking forward to being back in the classroom but also thinking ahead and trying to be proactive to what might come!
