My Students

As a educator, one quote that is instilled in my professional and personal beliefs is that, "Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be." (Rita Pearson 2013) Many of the students from my school come from high poverty/ low income homes that can cause challenging situations in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I cultivate a classroom culture that is inclusive, student- centered, embraces creativity and leadership, integrates collaborative problem solving, and innovative thinking through project-based learning. My goal is to provide my students with necessary skill sets that help them to feel empowered and ready to make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of others.

My Project

Technology in the classroom is imperative. I want my students to be technological pros while also helping them be to be successful in mastering all of their grade- level standards.

The use of iPads engage our youngest learners to be innovative and work collaboratively to solve problems and complete high- leverage tasks while applying their technology skills.

The iPads will also allow me to differentiate student learning using small group technology based instruction. I will be able to provide real time feedback to my students to help drive their learning and my instruction. It is amazing how this technology will help motivate students to work eagerly in reading, writing, and in math solving problems and practicing the math facts.

My students should be exposed to the newest technology to help them keep up with the trends in education. Knowing how to use this technology will help to ignite their passion for ongoing learning and collaboration of ideas with others. They will be using the iPad and interacting with innovative educational apps like Seesaw and Padlet, where they can practice answering math problems and also share their thinking with others using the iPad camera and microphone. These 21st century skills will lead them on a brighter path to success. Your donation will help these students use their basic technology skills, and master core curriculum at the same time. Let's help maximize their future success in the 21st century.
