My Students
I work in a classroom where the majority of my students are either African American, or Latino and they come form homes with working parents. There is a large amount of foster children at my school.
My students love learning and take joy in learning in hands on activities.
My class is a magnet class that covers Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. This will be my second year working at this school, I have 27 years of teaching experience.
My Project
The teacher is in need of a computer that will be used in the classroom to project lessons for the students. This computer will be used to also download resources for the students to interact with while they are learning new concepts.
I will also use the computer to share videos with the students so that they can see the things that we learn about.
For example, after reading about sloths that swim in the Amazon Rain forest, I can show them a video of a sloth in the Amazon Rain forest swimming. I will also be able to show them clips of the original Wizard of Oz, after reading about the actions of the characters from the play.
