What are you? A learner? A mathematician? A scientist? A reader? An engineer? A teacher? A writer? Students are all of these things and more.
I teach second graders.
They are so excited to participate in school when hands-on approaches and technology are involved. They are smart and creative. They are excited to participate in writer's workshop and publish digital stories. They are excited to learn math skills, spelling, grammar, reading, and vocabulary. Second graders are the perfect age to foster a love of learning so that their love of learning may continue throughout their lives.
I would like to further improve our engagement and learning in all curriculum areas with technology tools. The use of iPads can help with this goal. Students are great problem solvers and need a platform to share their ideas. They need a way to publish digital stories, share their creative ideas, collaborate with classmates, practice skills, and learn new content. Again, the iPads can help with this goal.
My Project
Students will use the iPads and iPad apps to enhance their learning and make communication, sharing, publishing digital stories, and collaboration a reality. We will use apps in which students can showcase their thinking and abilities. This will be our focus, but they will also use the iPads to practice skills and showcase learning.
I took technology classes in order to be technology endorsed and to be better equipped to teach this generation of learners.
I look forward to the opportunity to use these tools and teach these students. Thank you for considering helping us achieve our technology and learning goals.
