This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My third grade students are mostly English language learners who come from families of low socioeconomic status. Most speak Spanish and are mastering English, others speak English only. They come from humble homes who may not be able provide them with many material things. These families do their best to make ends meet. Some share their food and shelter with relatives, but despite these disadvantages they are eager and motivated to learn. They come to school with a smile and are ready to prepare themselves to succeed and take pride in their work.
My Project
I am requesting 25 earbuds and 2 tablets to complete a group set for use in our blended learning grouping. I want to integrate technology in my lessons and use it to support curricular goals. The earbuds will allow students to independently use the technology without disrupting those students that are not using devices.
Technology will help students acquire the skills they need to survive in a complex, highly technological knowledge-based economy.
My students need to have more opportunities to explore the true potential technology offers in learning.
Learning through projects while equipped with technology tools allows students to be intellectually challenged while providing them with a realistic snapshot of what the modern office looks like.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
