My Students

From the minute my students walk into our classroom to the dismissal bell, all 33 of my fourth graders are eager and excited to learn! Since my students are so excited to learn, I try to make learning as fun and engaging as possible each day!

I have 33 unique, caring, and full of life fourth graders in my classroom.

They all come from unique situations that can affect their learning. Some of my students have very stable home lives while others do not. Many students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch and do not have the resources at home to help with their schoolwork Due to this, I have a wide range of ability in my classroom. About half of my students are performing below grade level and require extra support to reach the curriculum we are learning. Even though many of my students struggle they are still fourth graders who are eager to learn and participate in class. I love seeing my students have those "a-ha" moments when they finally get a concept they have been struggling with or when students help each other be successful in class. For some of my students, our school is a place for them to forget about what is going on at home and enjoy being a smart and successful student!

My Project

With the addition of an iPad to our classroom, my students will have access to technology many of them do not have at home. An iPad would allow my students to collaborate on research projects or vocabulary instruction. Also, I would be able to better differentiate my instruction for my students who are performing below grade level. Having an iPad would allow my students access to different apps and websites that would help "shrink the gaps" for my students who are behind.

Donations to this project would improve our classroom because I would be able to meet the needs of my students more effectively.

An iPad would allow my students to explore the world and give them a chance to expand their curiosity and eagerness to learn.
