This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 20 hard working, amazing first grade students in a low income, small East Texas town. They love to work with hands-on activities, make creative art projects, play games, and learn through technology. My students do not respond as positively to worksheets or seat work activities as they do to physically manipulating skills with manipulatives or using a device.

I strive to make my classroom a fun and exciting, but also engaging learning environment for all of my students.

My Project

My students need an iPad mini for our technology station in our classroom. With this iPad, my students will be able to read and listen to books, take Accelerated Reading tests, and play educational games based on the skills we are learning in class. They can use the iPad for both Math and Reading stations. Technology motivates children to learn and I know that this iPad will do just that. It is important to protect the device, so I will need the case for it. The iPad will be used mostly during station time, so headphones are a must! Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom.
