I need professional development books like Google Apps for Littles and What Every Educator Should Know about Google. I also need a Chromebook and a subscription to Flipgrid to learn how to integrate technology into an elementary classroom.
"When you learn, teach. When you get, give". These inspiring words by Maya Angelou are what push me to help students refocus and engage the love of learning.
This is my fifth year teaching and I must say nothing prepares you for this work of heart as much as showing up each and every day.
The students I serve are ready to learn. I need to be ready to meet their challenge. Each year brings new opportunity to reach all learners.
My Project
The Chromebook will allow me to have the same tool that students have access to. Having a Chromebook for professional development will allow me to gain insight into student behavior and capabilities. A subscription to Flipgrid will allow me to have access to webinars where I can learn how to make lessons more interactive. The Google Apps for Littles book will be a great way for me to develop new tech skills at a pace that encourages innovation. The book Wild Card and What Every Educator Should Know about Google will provide a step by step guide to bring passion and creativity to my craft.
