This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Whooaaa!" Music to my ears. That is the sound of wonder and discovery. It is a sound I get to hear in my classroom.
Small, yet mighty, my students range in age from three to five years.
They are from a variety of backgrounds, home languages, and experiences. These little minds all gather in the a neighborhood of Chicago where I have the honor of watching them bloom and grow.
All of this blooming and growing requires hands-on learning. Hands-on means my students are engaged in and facilitators of their own learning. Please consider helping these little scholars blossom in my classroom.
My Project
My students are filled with wonder. They wonder why, what if, how. Their curiosities have often led me to search for pictures and information on my phone. With access to tablets, my students will have opportunities to explore with greater independence, not to mention a larger screen. In addition, they will finally be able to take advantage of apps (including coding) and websites that will further their understanding of the world around them. A particularly exciting opportunity they will have will be the use of Bookflix. Through Bookflix, my students will have access to hundreds of fictional and nonfictional books.
