Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are second graders who are creative thinkers, writers, readers, inquirers, explorers, and leaders. During this pandemic they have worked really hard to continue with their education. They are eager to learn and move forward.
My dedicated and hardworking students have been working diligently using the assignments that I have provided them with through the use of Google Classroom, Seesaw, and Audible Stories.
Our school is a Title I school that serves many underprivileged students in the community. Approximately 95% of our students are from low-income households, and all of our students are eligible to receive free lunch. Many of them will, hopefully, be the first in their family to go to college.
My Project
Distance learning and the transition to the virtual classroom has been a challenging experience for both students and teachers. While trying to create productive assignments and videos for my students I found my videos lagging or taking forever to load. An assignment that would have taken me one hour to create and load took double that time. A well-prepared lesson often turned into a failed mission.
With a dependable working computer I will be the effective teacher my students deserve.
This will enable me to load the best apps for effective instruction and continuous learning connections.
I'm taking on an ambitious mission to seek a desktop computer that I could use with distance learning. This will serve me now and later in the classroom when one day I return to the classrooms with my wonderful students. Hope you will kindly consider helping me a productive teacher!
