My Project
My middle school math class is full of hardworking and creative students. My students have a variety of challenges ranging from Autism to Sensory processing disorders to ADHD and behavioral struggles. Over 90% of them have a diagnosed disability. The particular needs of my students mean that I must endeavor to have creative and fluid lessons to keep them engaged.
By donating to our project, you will give my students the support and motivation they need to have a successful math experience.
I utilize a lot of technology to support my math curriculum. Having access to an iPad stand and a hub for my laptop will support my ability to use the technology that I have more efficiently.
Having essential oils diffused into the classroom air throughout the day will enable my students to feel comfortable and regulated in their environment. This will make a massive difference to my students with sensory issues and with odors and body temperature regulation.
The gum and candy are a wonderful way to assist students with oral sensory needs and anxiety.
These supplies will help me meet my students' constantly changing needs. In this supported environment, students are encouraged to communicate, problem-solve, and utilize teamwork to tackle real-world situations and problems. Because of the diverse abilities and challenges of my students, I have learned to be adaptive in how I approach each student's needs in the classroom.
