Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students demonstrate a love for learning when the opportunity is presented to them. They are always excited when I share new ideas and the books and materials that go along with those ideas. My students are very eager to learn something new each day at school.

They get excited when I bring in a new game to play or a new activity or even a new book to read which helps them to master a new skill, especially learning about feelings and the way they feel.

They are special because they want to learn. They just need more supplies, games, activities, technology, and books to help them get to the next level in their learning.

My Project

My students love to learn through technology but are limited with the use of tablets and computers due to classroom resources. Technology is an essential tool not only to teach but is a great resource to have in the classroom.

There are many benefits to children using technology in the classroom.

Ways technology can be use in the classroom include teaching and learning letters and numbers, apps and software that can help children with early literacy concepts, and early math concepts such as letter recognition and letter sounds, counting, sorting, and grouping. Active play in the classroom by using software can allow students’ bodies to be a part of the game and part of technology. Technology provides many opportunities for children to be creative. It encourages children to use drawing programs and apps to start with, and then brings in other types of technology.

Teaching students appropriate ways to use technology can also help them be good digital citizens in the future.
