Help me give my students a rolling ball storage cart, new soccer balls, footballs, basketballs and other agility equipment to help them succeed this season.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from low-income families. When they come to school it's an escape for them. We try our best to make sure every student receives what they need regardless of their economic status. The majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch making us a Title-1 school. Our teachers share their supplies with our students so they have everything they need to succeed in school. Many of our students spend most of their day in school because their parents work long shifts or two jobs to make ends meet. We try to not only instill in them the importance of education, but also the importance of health and nutrition. We offer a variety of sports for all ages including basketball, soccer, t-ball, cheerleading, and flag football. Through these sports programs, our students learn the importance of taking care of their bodies, teamwork, perseverance, and leadership. Our sports programs are in need of some new equipment for the coming years. Please take a minute to check us out. Thank you!
My Project
If our project is fully funded, our sports program will be taken to a whole other level. With this new equipment, our school will be able to give out more sports scholarships and have even more students participate in after-school sports. These donations will help our football, basketball, and soccer team as well.
School sports motivate our students to keep their grades and their health up while providing them with an escape outside of the classroom.
With this new training equipment, they are able to not only learn the basics of sports but also enhance their skills at a young age. This project will affect hundreds of students in south Homestead.
