Help me give my students basic supplies such as pens, highlighters, and notebooks along with wobble stools, cardboard boxes, and post-it notes, to implement engaging hands-on lessons during our small group workshop stations.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Imagine rooting for your favorite team during the Super Bowl...how amazing would it be for your team to get into the end zone and score a touchdown? Well, I am my students' biggest fan and I am determined to see them grow in their self-confidence, academics, and be successful in our world!
Setting up work stations with hands-on and creative ways to help students access the curriculum would make such a big difference in engaging my students and helping them get excited about learning!
This year, I have a large class size once again and I continue to brainstorm ways to help incorporate movement and small group instruction daily. Reading workshop is a time where students get to explore different strategies for learning with small group tasks and build on their teamwork skills.
My students need post-its, highlighters, and notebooks to express themselves through journaling and give one another written feedback. They also need folders, cardboard boxes, and tape to create projects such as a Biography lapbook for Black History month. The wobble stools, frisbees that will act as mini-whiteboards, dry erase markers, and privacy partitions will help to provide a calming space to work throughout our workshop stations. Storage bins are needed to help keep our games and workshop materials organized and ready for daily use and creative play. Lastly, we need Kleenex and Clorox wipes to make sure our classroom workspace is clean to reduce the spread of germs.
Help my students get into the learning zone during workshop so they can go the length of the "learning field" and "score" new strategies to support their learning through the implementation of our workshop stations!
