This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Research has shown that students learn skills best when they are able to practice them in real-life situations. The games & team-building equipment in this project will help students learn about and apply social skills like collaboration, communication, problem-solving, & emotional regulation through practicing them in a variety of circumstances (e.g. team challenges, acts of kindness/service, peer conversations/reflection, mindfulness/movement, & self-directed learning through student choice boards). In the past, students have described my team-challenge lessons as "the best lessons" and even request that I come to class to do them each year they are at my school (6th-8th grade).
