My Students
My scholars are very energetic, optimistic, and eager readers with the grit that is sure to take them on many flights of fancy as they travel from my room to and through college.
My scholars love to read novels and create stories of their own.
Some of them even make their own little comic books. It brightens my day to see their zest for learning and to see them exploring the possibilities beyond the walls of our classroom. They are truly on the road to becoming life long learners and productive citizens in their communities.
My Project
I'm requesting items that my scholars will use at their desks in order to participate in several aspects of daily NC Common Core State Standards based learning competitions.
I requested buzzers so my students will be able to play "Family Reading Feud" (based on the game "Family Feud".
Scholars will be asked questions based on standards covered during our reading lessons. They will also be asked questions based on the novel we are discussing.
I requested name plates to use as letter holders for when we review vocabulary words. I will read out definitions of words, and the scholars will spell the words using letter tiles. The will use the name plate to hold the letter tiles just like the game "Scrabble".
