My Students
I work at an International Baccalaureate school in Denver. It is a public school that serves a diverse population of learners but is committed to making a difference in the community and world around us. My kids have varying skills and abilities but they work together in groups to question, dig deeper and take action as citizens of this planet. Besides proficiency in reading and math, teamwork is one of the most important strengths a student can build in the classroom to take with them into the world!
My Project
The mission of The International Baccalaureate is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are active, compassionate lifelong learners. This is achieved through collaboration and teamwork while working on inquiry based projects. The tables will allow groups to work together without the distraction of uneven, cluttered desks. These days, compelling communication is an important skill, but a team works well when they have what they need. Inquiry projects need materials that are easily accessible and organized. The storage furniture will add a wall to our library as well as hold supplies in an organized place students can reach.
