This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This letter is a plea for help on behalf of my 5th-grade class. Our class has big ideas and brilliant young minds, and the potential to build something that might just rival the school cafeteria's questionable meatloaf, but some key ingredients are missing!
The current STEM activities are about to reach stratospheric levels of awesomeness, and help is needed to get there.
I am requesting Small Dry Erase Boards: Think of them as mini idea factories! These boards are crucial for the class's brainstorming sessions. The class needs enough for each brilliant mind to doodle, diagram, and maybe even draw a few alien spaceships while no one's looking.
Whiteboard Markers: Because what's a dry erase board without the ability to make it glow with mathematical equations and engineering designs?
Post-it Notes: For capturing those fleeting "aha!" moments before they vanish like a dropped science experiment. These little sticky wonders will help organize ideas, collaborate on projects, and maybe even write encouraging messages like "You got this, future engineer!" or "Don't let your marshmallow tower crumble!"
With these tools, my 5th graders will be able to collaborate and experiment without fear, because who cares about a little mistake when you can just wipe it away? They will engage with STEM in a way that's fun, creative, and maybe a little bit messy (in a good way, we promise!).
