This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are caring, young scholars that are eager to learn! We are a K-5 science and technology school in an urban neighborhood.

Our goal is to foster a love of learning and provide high-quality, hands-on educational experiences.

This year, my 4th grade students will work on LEGO kits as a team! This project is designed to help students improve their teamwork skills. We will work in small team to follow directions and build a variety of LEGO projects.

Social emotional learning is extremely important after the last few years of COVID disruptions. "The COVID-19 pandemic upended daily life for every family and school across the United States. But its impacts were not universal. The inequities that cut across classrooms and communities have contributed to broad disparities in the losses, trauma, and isolation that many students and educators have endured" (CRPE, 2021).

Through the LEGO kits requested, we hope to develop strong social skills through this team building project in our classroom. These skills will help us cope with the COVID disruptions of the last few year.
