Help me give my students new quality mentor texts that focus on social and emotional well being and growth mindset. Help me provide them with math manipulatives that allow them to get a concrete grasp of concepts.
My students are a happy, energetic group of six and seven year olds. They are excited about learning and love school. They have beautiful smiles. They are my favorite people. I am truly loving this group of kids.
They are working really hard this year to make up for some of the impact COVID-19 has had on their learning.
This is the first year that some of my students have been in a traditional school setting. All of my students were impacted by the shortened day of Kindergarten.
My Project
These mentor texts focus on narrative writing and social and emotional growth. Journals will allow students to write out feelings as well as narratives. Art supplies will help them express themselves creatively. Math manipulatives make concepts more accessible to young lerners.
Some of the items will help my classroom run more smoothly.
Lysol wipes will help keep our classroom clean. Wipe off pockets and markers allow me to use less paper and make fewer copies. The laminator allows me to make math and literacy games and activities that will last more than one year.
