My students are first grade students at a high performing Chicago Public School.
The students come from an urban community and are from all different socioeconomic backgrounds. We are considered to be a "technology school." However, we have limited technology in the building.
My Project
I will be able to keep all students engaged and meet the needs of every student. The tablets will make learning fun using diverse methods of instruction. The educational apps will help students practice skills in all subject areas. It is also beneficial for saving paper and helping the environment. These tablets will help to widen the students' lens on many things including technology. Once I receive these tablets, I will be able to work with small groups of students while other students are actively engaged in learning at their own level on these tablets. The possibilities are endless with virtual field trips and interactive maps once we get these tablets.
My students need tablets because they have the power to engage and can make learning fun.
They will also allow for collaboration within the classroom. Students will be able to explore beyond the classroom for many years to come.
