Teaching with Technology

My students need three Kindle Fire Tablets and cases to give them access to technology that will help them become successful learners in the 21st century learning environment.

My Students

These first graders are energetic, hard-working, determined students who love coming to school everyday! The students live in a high poverty section of the city and the majority of them receive free breakfast and lunch at school. We have a large population of ESL learners and are increasing our inclusion classroom settings each year.

These students are eager to learn, to explore, and to be challenged!

Our school is a small, close-knit community where our students are taught to believe in themselves and that anything is possible!

My Project

The Kindle Fire tablets will make a difference in my students' learning by giving them access to material and research to help with all academic subjects. They can listen to books during our literacy centers, look up research information for science units on air/weather, organisms, and solids/liquids, learn about historical figures for social studies, and allow them to become familiar with technology being used in our world. The students can pair up with a buddy to work on group projects, review math concepts through Ten Marks Plus, or work on early literacy skills through the Starfall program. These tablets can also be a tool for special needs students to help them work on specific programs for their needs and allow them additional resources to assist them with their learning.
