My Students

My students are growing up in a digital age and are very excited to use any technology that is available to them. Currently the only technology in my classroom for students to use is a smart board. I want to expose them to more technology to motivate their learning.

I have 26 five and six year olds in my kindergarten classroom.

We are located in Baltimore City. My students are low income minority students who are just beginning their educational journey. They are highly motivated learners who, with the right tools and guidance, are capable of huge success.

My Project

My students will use the tablets with headphones to choose and play educational games during our work station time. This is the time in the day where I pull small groups for instruction while the rest of the class works in groups of 3 to independently practice skills they need extra time with. One group will be able to use tablets individually to work on skills through games. By wearing headphones and working independently my students will be motivated and focused on skills just right for them.

My students are very motivated by technology.

My hope is my students will spend quality time on these tablets so they can improve their basic understanding of kindergarten skills and also have fun while doing it.
