As technology continues to move education forward, it also sometimes makes it hard to engage students during class. This is exactly why interactive learning is so important. I go to great lengths to implement hands-on, interactive learning in our classroom in order to keep my kiddos engaged and peak students' interest.
Teachers' easels are a simple but, ingenious multipurpose teaching tool that allow students to visualize the things we are learning about during whole group instruction and practice those skills during independent practice.
We will use the magnetic whiteboard side of this classroom easel to practice writing words and sentences, to build consonant-vowel-consonant and sight words with magnetic letters, to display big books on the safe plastic ledge while reading, as well as, modeling mathematical concepts with hands-on manipulatives. Additionally, we can hang charts and other resources while storing all the manipulatives needed for instruction.
