Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose." The students in our classroom are my inspiration. They work incredibly hard considering many of them are coming from challenging backgrounds. Despite these difficulties, every single one of them has a great deal of potential that is waiting to be tapped.
I have 25 wonderfully curious 4th graders from incredibly diverse communities.
Many do not speak English at home, and others have individualized education plans. This diversity makes our classroom a perfect microcosm of the real world.
My Project
Technology is in every part of our lives and our students need to understand how to utilize technology in a way that will help prepare them for the future. Students have been exposed to technology: however, we only have a limited amount of time to use the technology available. I have no projector in the classroom and the majority of students do not have internet at home; therefore, the requested smart television will allow us to access multiple media formats throughout our lessons. I will also be able to run through their Google Classroom assignments and other instructional media during whole-group lessons. I want to incorporate the TV into small group workshops which will allow for differentiation for students who need more visuals.
I also have been looking to add some flexible seating areas in our classroom that would make seating less of a traditional space; that's why I would like some chairs during small group workshops.
I know that having both a new medium and less of a traditional seating space will keep them fully engaged throughout small-group and whole-group instruction.
