My students need books and graphic novels to teach them about tolerance and equality.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious about the world around them and eager to learn. They have spunky personalities and are bursting with energy.
Many of them are being raised in single parent households, are English language learners, and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
However, these obstacles will not hold my students back from all they want to accomplish and learn during the school year. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, they are focused on reaching their academic goals.
My Project
Young readers learn to sympathize with others through reading about others' experiences. The books that I am requesting are about characters from all walks of life. Some of these books are about refugees and their search for clean water. Some of these books are about kids in the foster care system. And some of these books are about racial segregation and the fight for civil rights.
We can raise a compassionate generation by teaching young ones tolerance, love, respect, and equality, no matter somebody's background.
Please help my students by providing these books that will offer a look into others' lives.
