This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a wonderful group of eager 5 year old kindergarten students who range in level of ability physically and cognitively. Many of my students have grown up in areas of poverty and most come from low-income families. My students are excited to come to the classroom to learn and have fun in an enriching environment. For many of my incoming Kindergarten students this is their first school experience as they did not attend preschool prior to coming to kindergarten.
My Project
This magnetic white board easel will be great for all kiddos to be able to see during whole group instruction and allow for the use of magnetic manipulatives during learning. The storage this easel offers helps to decrease time spent moving the around the classroom to gather materials since all materials for instruction can be stored in/ on the easel itself. Also, the mobility of this easel creates opportunities for small group instruction and, simply, the option to move it when necessary. Furthermore, we do not currently have a magnetic white board large enough for all students to see clearly during whole group instruction. The opportunities this easel offers are endless in a kindergarten classroom.
