This project will give me intensive training in the best practices for teaching students how to read using a multi-sensory approach. The strategies learned through this comprehensive professional development will benefit all learners in my classroom. I will learn strategies that will help students who need additional support in order to learn letters, sounds, and words. This professional development will give me the resources needed to determine the needs of each learner, including students with learning differences and English Language Learners, in my classroom and how to best meet their needs. My goal as a kindergarten teacher is to ensure all students leave my classroom with mastery of the foundational skills needed to be successful in first grade.
