Help me give my students materials that will help them grow socially and emotionally. This includes visuals, books, and conversation starters for morning meeting.
My students are inquisitive children who are ready for learning! Many of them have never been in a classroom before. Kindergarten is a year where they learn what school is all about. They grow socially and academically throughout the year. We build the foundation for their future.
In Kindergarten, I want to build a love for learning.
This experience will set a precedent for the rest of their school years. I want students to learn that school is a safe place where they can take risks and grow.
My Project
When children come to school, we teach much more than reading and math. We teach the whole child.
Children often have trouble cooperating with others and understanding their own feelings.
As a Kindergarten teacher, I feel that it is extremely important to teach social skills so that students will be able to grow as individuals. Students need to learn how to share, make friends, and handle large emotions. Right now, we have morning meeting and we work on these skills, but I’m lacking books and supplies in this area. I would like to make my morning meetings more meaningful by providing students with books and visuals to help them understand themselves, as well as others.
