My Students
As a second grade teacher at a Title I school where 100% of the students receive free lunch, I find that many of the students face difficulties both inside and outside of the classroom. Along with all of the subjects, standards, and skills we are required to teach, I find it most important that our students learn how to be good citizens.
It doesn't matter where you come from, or what your background is, every student is capable of anything they set their mind to.
I treat all of my students with respect and I expect nothing less in their treatment of each other and adults alike. The students need to know that someone believes in them, that they can believe in themselves, and that is our job as a teacher. Fuel the students with hopes and aspirations so that they may reach their fullest potential.
My Project
With these tablets, my students will be able learn with and through technology. The most technology some of these students have been exposed to is a smart phone. They truly enjoy new methods of learning and they should have every experience possible. Their future careers will undoubtedly involve technology, so let’s get them started now! They will have reading and comprehension activities along with math games and scientific investigations through the tablets. Additionally they will learn skills including learning to type, listening skills, and gross-motor skills with the touch screen technology. Currently, there is one old computer they are able to use and their excitement for their turn on it is palpable. I can only imagine how they’ll feel with something as new as a tablet!
