Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My little kindergarteners are an amazing group of students. They are bright, kind, hard-working, diligent, persistent, and so loving. They came into my class bright-eyed, nervous, unsure, and excited and they are now working so hard and constantly growing!
The tenacity, perseverance, and awe-inspiring wonderment they possess are an inspiration to me every day.
They are a diverse bunch, stemming from a variety of cultures, social-economic classes, and personalities. They celebrate different customs and routines but they show so much compassion and appreciation toward each other. They relish in their differences and similarities alike! They are kind-hearted and brighten my day!
My goal is to create a learning environment that is bright and diverse, where my students can grow abundantly, and feel loved, safe and cared for. I want them to embrace curiosity and feel comfortable taking educational risks so that they may become a well developed, well rounded, happy human being.
My Project
There is so much learning happening in this kindergarten room! I have an amazing bunch of kiddos who love to read, write, count, add and subtract! They are working so hard on becoming more independent in their skills and honing in on the tools they can utilize to make them the most successful!
Having this teaching table in the classroom would be such an asset to the students and me as a teacher.
I would be able to pull small groups and target specific learning skills they need to master. This table is the perfect size for proximity, while also allowing space for the children to sit and read books, work on writing, or use manipulatives to aid in mastering math skills!
The way the classroom is configured currently, and the tables I am able to use, are not conducive to the most productive small group instruction. Having this teaching table, the shape and size that it is would make a world of difference in educating these amazing little kinder tots!
