This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My project is to serve students from Kinder - 5th grade through after school activities that keep students engaged and excited for learning new things! Additionally, these activities ensure students learn effective communication, teamwork, and other soft skills that are necessary for their personal and professional success. I plan to have students participate in arts and crafts, sports, and STEM related activities. Students usually do not have the financial resources for this learning at home so they rely on after school for this type of learning.
Through arts and crafts, students will learn to use their hands to create projects.
They will be working on their skills with cutting, pasting, coloring and combining materials for an end project.
Through sports, students will learn about rules, team work, and critical thinking. They will plays games such as soccer, baseball and basketball.
Through STEM, students will engage in activities that will allow them to use their critical thinking skills and encourage research.
