Teaching Responsibility and Organization in K!!!!!
My students need to learn organization and responsibility. Kinder students need to learn about being responsible for their own supplies and materials. This is a lifelong skill that will benefit them both at school and home.

My Students
Our school is located in a beautiful coastal community. The students that attend our school come from various backgrounds, ability levels and experiences. Our school serves children from all backgrounds and languages. We serve a high number of English as a Second Language Students. We are a Title One, high poverty school.
This year, my classroom consists of twenty-two new Kinder students.
I know they will be full of life and ready to learn. My students love to try fun and different ways of learning. We try and use as many different types of manipulatives and materials as possible when learning. I am blessed to be called their teacher.
My Project
Organization and responsibility are two life skills that everyone should learn. By teaching students at a young age, we are setting them up for success in the years to come. I am interested in using chair pouches/bags on the chairs in my classroom as a way to teach my Kinders to be organized.
There are so many supplies and manipulatives that are used in a classroom on a daily basis.
Many of those materials are used so often during a day that kids have to get up and down, over and over to get the supplies that they need. By utilizing chair pouches, students will have the supplies within arms reach. This will cut down on movement within the classroom, down time in lessons and noise. Students will learn about being responsible for their own learning materials and ways in which to keep all their supplies organized.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
