Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I transitioned to Special Education so I see about 40 students throughout the day in pretty much all grade levels from first through fifth grade. My students have all been identified with a variety of disabilities and receive my support in their general education classroom. With this COVID 19 pandemic our students have very limited mobility throughout the school so I travel to them!
My students love working with manipulatives because it makes them feel like if they are playing rather than learning.
They are eager to learn and are so appreciative of this opportunity to learn in a safe and loving environment.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for me and my students will help tremendously in this pandemic. As a special education teacher, I have to travel all over the school with supplies that normally I would house in my classroom.
My students need hands on activities and the rolling cart will allow me to take materials needed to them.
The magnetic whiteboard will help them during math lessons as we work on addition and subtraction. They will also be able to show their work at a safe distance and have fun exploring math concepts!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
