This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a teacher looking for support for our students. We do not have a formal music program but I wanted to bring the joy of music to students so I started a modern band program at our high school! Using the supplies from the list students will be able to perform a variety of popular modern band music from artist like Hozier, Avincii, and many more.

Students have been jamming with me and with each other using limited equipment and I would really love for students to perform for their fellow peers by having amplifiers and more!

Specifically using the amplifier and new guitar strings will allow students to play electric guitars together. The drum kit we currently have needs new drum heads which will be used as a staple in the modern band set up. Using the karaoke machine, students can practice their vocals and practice singing songs before performing them solo. Lastly, the adapter will be used for a bass amp that no longer has a functioning adapter. I have already seen students flourish despite our limited equipment, but I know they can take it even further with a modern band setup! Please help us make this a reality for this year and many more years to come. Thank you!
