For those of you who are wondering, I'm not truly on fire, just teaching that way. Hello from the "Ignite Marketing Firm" at the Hamilton Career Center in Seneca, SC. We are a Career and Technology school that provides vocational and technical skills for high school students.
This year the Marketing program had a face lift which the students named, "Ignite." What a huge accomplishment to get my students on board with ownership of the new program! With the face lift came change. My class is completely project based. If you can glue, cut with scissors, color, tape, imagine, and just have fun...then you are getting an excellent visual of my classroom.
My students work very hard to create awesome projects that are displayed around the school. This has increased motivation and self-confidence in the classroom. Using the new found motivation, my students are becoming more focused as entrepreneurs and leadership material for the future.
What I am requesting is an opportunity for my students to turn their current cut and paste projects into a realistic, industry portfolio that they can take with them when they graduate. A laser jet printer will offer the crisp, clean and professional printing options that my students need to take their prototype projects to "Wow! I did this...let me show you what I can do."
I want my students to see that a mind on fire with creativity doesn't have to be stifled by a resource that's tangible. Thank you for reading.
