This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the future leaders of tomorrow. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. It is my desire to give my students, an even playing field. This will be my ninth year in teaching and fifth year teaching first grade. I am a big advocate for literacy and math development. I believe in giving my students a head start and equipping them with strategies to broaden their horizons. I make it a mission to encourage my students to believe anything is possible in life. I consider every day to be a wonderful opportunity to teach inquisitive, insightful, delightful, and extraordinary 6-year-olds. Your contribution will facilitate, in the development of authentic, ambitious, imaginative open-minded individuals. The donations will be used to enhance students' learning and help develop well-rounded students.
My Project
My class needs resources to help develop their literacy skills. Reading and writing are essential to the growth and development of every child. The literacy resources I'm requesting will be used to help my students reach their full potential. The resource games will help my students have purposeful centers that will cater to their individual literacy needs. Also, the teacher resources will provide me with the opportunity to enhance instruction during small groups.
The workstations and games will help those students who are performing below grade level.
Intervention is key to helping those students who are struggling with reading skills. The writing center material will help students who struggle with the daily writing topic. To help students learn about diverse backgrounds, the books about holidays and countries will prompt diverse learning.
