Help me give my students a organized art studio. The shelves will help us keep our colored paper organized. The trays will help students carry painting and print making supplies to and from tables.

My Project
I have been trying to shift my classroom from a traditional Art classroom into an Art Studio that is student friendly. I want to create a studio that cultivates and encourage creativity. Teaching Artist Behavior is more about exploring materials and becoming better problem solvers.
By having art medium sorted and organized into smaller containers, each student will have freedom to choose the materials that works better for the project they want to create.
I have some students who really do not like the feel and/or sound of the markers being pulled across a paper. Some students do not like the soft texture of oil pastels. By having a classroom with many options, students are able to use the materials that they are most comfortable with.
When a student can take their own time creating a painting or drawing, they are more likely to take pride and ownership for the piece of art. Student will learn that there are more ways to be heard than with your voice. They can use art as an outlet for their feelings, dreams, and mysteries within themselves.
"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time" - Thomas Merton
My dream Art classroom is one that is organized, open, and inspiring. I would LOVE for my students to get excited about coming to art each week to work on their very own masterpiece. Students need to feel success. Art is a way to be successful for every level of artist. Everyone can draw! Everyone can color! Everyone can paint! It's my job to help students discover what can help them be successful!
