Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. They are primarily newcomers with little to no English and varying skill levels. Many of them have significant gaps in their education and require a lot of support to catch up to their peers. Being in an inner-city, they are often exposed to difficult situations at home and in their community as well. Each student brings a unique background and set of experiences to the classroom.
Although they may face great adversity, they are extremely energetic and eager to learn.
They come to school each day, despite the challenges they face. They have made tremendous growth and continue to reach for their dreams. They have shown me the meaning of resilience, and I continue to be amazed by all that they are able to accomplish.
My Project
TeachersPayTeachers (TpT) is a wonderful website full of supplemental resources created for teachers by teachers. The TpT gift cards would allow me to purchase engaging materials to use with my English Language Learners. These materials are standards based and differentiated to meet the needs of all learners. The wonderful thing about purchasing materials from TpT is that the materials are created by fellow teachers, so by purchasing the resources they have created I would also be giving back to other educators. Your generous donation will therefore help not only my students, but will benefit other teachers as well!
