My Students

I have 19 students who have a heartwarming love for learning. Every student is unique with their own likes, dislikes, story, and things that interest them. One thing all my students have in common is their fascination with STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math). We foster this love by lots of hands on activities as well as several opportunities to use our classroom technology.

My students are also easily engaged with crafts and things that they can be artistic with!

We often have an art based activity that meets their foundational learning skill. This can look like our water color paintings that we then write about.

My Project

Teachers Pay Teachers is an outstanding resource for lessons that are engaging and leave an impact on student learning. These activities help us push past just the "requirements". Ultimately, they create an opportunity for students to love what they are learning. I have used resources from Teachers Pay Teachers for interventions for students who are struggling, homework, artwork, STEM activities, to sub resources. We use some form of TPT resource DAILY in our kindergarten classroom.

I am currently looking for funding for resources on TPT that are art based, to support my students writing.

This resource will support my classroom for weeks including through the holidays. This resource will also give my students the ability to gift their art to their families. We are focusing on writing because after stepping back into in person in Alaska there is a tremendous need for writing support after virtual learning. My students writing is well below grade level. We are working to change this by making them excited to write.

These resources will also be used to create a focus area for students to understand what is expected of them each week. This focus area is an age appropriate way to explain their "jobs" each week. What we understand about learning is that if you know "what" and "why" you have an easier time obtaining the information.
